WUJ Heritage Hikes
Started in December 2020 , WUJ Heritage Hike is a service which invites participants to explore Pulau Ubin in a whole new light — through the lens of the Orang Pulau community, and to learn about their uniquely rich culture and heritage.
See Ubin in a totally different light
Explore Pulau Ubin together with Wan and experience the island through the lens of the Ubin Orang Pulau community!
Learn, live and love the heritage behind the people who call Pulau Ubin their home and why this island shall forever hold a special place in their hearts.
One person I recommend is Wan’s Ubin Journal. He leads tours into Pulau Ubin and tells the stories of the memories of his grandmother of the various places on the island. It’s so deep that I don’t think I’ve heard anything similar because he has so much context. Although he is pretty young, storytelling was tremendous in indigenous communities in the past.
